Job Summary:

The Debit Card Services Representative I is responsible for assisting branches and members with servicing needs for Debit/ATM/Prepaid card type products in a fast-paced environment. Individual must use knowledge of card related products and systems to view reports crucial to minimizing risk to the credit union.

Job Duties:

  • Assist branches and members with questions associated with card products via telephone, email, or secure message.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with employees, members, and non-members verbally as well as written communication whether it be by mail or email.
  • Work closely with the Member Care Center to provide Tier 2 member support for plastic servicing. Judgement and critical thinking needed for Tier 2 support to ensure we mitigate risks of fraudulent attempts and takeover of accounts.
  • Assist with travel notifications via phone, email, or secure message.
  • Respond to inquiries, resolve problems, and fulfill member and branch requests by researching and exploring alternate solutions and completing transactions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work various reports relating to Debit Card Services functions timely to ensure risk is mitigated. Requires critical thinking and judgement.
  • Assist with dispute processing of debit/ATM cards for POS and ATM transactions.
  • Recognize, document and alert the Team Leader or AVP of trends in member calls that could be the result of a fraud breach or scam.
  • Compliance with applicable statutes and regulations including, but not limited to BSA, Reg E, and MasterCard.
  • Perform file maintenance on existing accounts utilizing software systems designed for the ATM, debit, and prepaid cards.
  • Assist with reordering of cards for membership not desiring instant issue cards.
  • Keep up to date on product knowledge required for servicing our cards.
  • Assist with supplying our branches with instant issue card stock as inventory depletes.
  • Perform all other duties associated with the ATM, debit, and prepaid card programs as assigned.

Job Specifications:

    • A high school diploma along with proficient math and critical thinking skills are required.
    • Excellent phone skills and ability to multi-task required.
    • Working knowledge of personal computer operations preferred.
    • Previous financial experience and card experience desired.
    • Individual must be a self-starter and constantly aware of the necessity for meeting deadlines.
    • The Debit Card Services Representative will possess sound judgement, strong attention to detail, with the aptitude to plan and follow up on all job duties assigned in order to mitigate risk to the credit union.


Candidate must be available Monday - Thursday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.; Friday 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
