Position Summary: 

We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our accounting team You will help manage financial aspects of construction projects, ensuring accurate billing, cost tracking, and compliance with contract terms. You will prepare monthly invoices, process project changes, manage inventory and equipment usage, and assist with month-end and annual close processes. You will be apart of the accounting team, collaborate with project managers, and report to the controller. 


Employment Status: Full-Time


Summary of Duties:  

  • Review project contracts to ensure billing is aligned with contract terms, calculate and prepare monthly invoices, and coordinate with project managers to gather necessary documentation and approvals. 
  • Ensure timely submission of invoices to clients and track payment status. 
  • Utilize Procore to process project changes, including budget updates and commitment change orders. 
  • Manage warehouse inventory withdrawals and equipment usage, ensuring accurate record-keeping and cost allocation. 
  • Assist with month-end and annual close process, participating in the preparation of financial statements and reports and reconciling project-related accounts. 
  • Set up and manage billing review workflows. 
  • Support the annual audit process. 
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement. 
  • Additional duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills.
  • Previous experience with accounting software such as Sage CRE, ERP, or similar preferred. 
  • Associates degree preferred, or a high school diploma in addition to 2 years of relevant accounting/invoicing experience.


Travel: Travel is not a requirement of the position.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: 

Primarily work out of the corporate office; however, may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, loud noises, and more within OSHA standards if visiting a jobsite. Must be able to use body members to work, move, or carry objects or materials. Required to operate a variety of automated office machines such as a computer, printer, fax machine, copy machine, calculator, telephone, etc.
