Summary:

The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) is responsible for delivering exceptional member services and assisting in managing branch operations. The ABM ensures adherence to established policies and procedures and provides a full range of services to members and prospective members. This role includes supervising, training, and developing branch team members, contributing to their progression within the organization.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties listed below represent the required knowledge, skills, and abilities but are not exhaustive. Supervisors may assign additional tasks as deemed necessary.

· Ensure branch operations comply with Credit Union policies and legal/regulatory requirements.

· Promote branch business development activities, expand the member base, and guide the team in cross-selling Credit Union services.

· Assist the Branch Manager in leading and developing the team to thrive in a sales and service environment.

· Communicate and achieve established team and individual goals for the branch.

· Maintain proper cash controls; ensure all branch transactions are balanced daily.

· Control and handle daily deposits in accordance with policies and procedures.

· Assist in developing, coaching, and guiding team members, providing leadership through effective objective setting and communication, including a minimum of monthly two-on-one sessions.

· Ensure high-quality work and efficiency in operations, assigning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing tasks.

· Periodically audit MSRs cash and vault cash on the premises.

· Ensure members are informed of Credit Union services and policies.

· Coordinate branch operations with accounting, loan processing, and credit functions; manage expenses and pursue cost-saving measures.

· Assist the Branch Manager in completing monthly sales reports.

· Assist with branch activity reports and make improvement recommendations to management.

· Process loan requests from all channels and effectively comply with loan policies and procedures using Meridian Link.

· Efficiently complete onboarding activities for new members' accounts using Meridian.

· Fill in for the Branch Manager as needed.

· Monitors proper compliance with all applicable regulations, including, but not limited to, BSA, CIP, and OFAC for all team members.

· Perform related duties and fill in for branch positions as needed.

Requirements:

Experience/Education Requirements:

· College degree preferable or equivalent combined education and work experience of a minimum of three years--additional college coursework in business or finance preferred

· At four least years of related experience in a financial institution (Credit Union preferred),

· Three years of supervisory and management experience.

· Thorough knowledge of Credit Union services and products and understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements

· Familiarity with branch functions, policies, and procedures is required


Desirable certifications in the following areas:

· IRA certified

· NMLS


Other Skills and Abilities:

· Must possess strong interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills

· Ability to prioritize, adapt to change, and efficiently handle a variety of tasks in a busy and dynamic work environment

· Aptitude to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

· Ability to work with diverse personalities and populations

· Must have a positive attitude and friendly service must be provided to both the membership and to all fellow team members at the Credit Union

· Must have the ability to identify member opportunities for financial improvement, communicate recommendations, and provide support

· Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills

· Microsoft Office programs knowledgeable

· A valid California Class C Driver’s License, a method of transportation when needed

to carry out job-related essential functions and at least minimum automobile insurance coverage as required by the State of California

· Bilingual (Spanish/English preferred)
