Summary:

The Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) plays a crucial role in delivering outstanding member services while assisting in the management of branch operations. The ABM ensures compliance with established policies and procedures and offers a comprehensive range of services to both current and prospective members. This position involves supervising, training, and nurturing branch team members, fostering their growth within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities outlined below represent the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this role, though they are not exhaustive. Supervisors may assign additional tasks as necessary.

  • Ensure branch operations adhere to Credit Union policies and legal/regulatory standards.
  • Encourage branch business development initiatives, broaden the member base, and guide the team in promoting Credit Union services.
  • Assist the Branch Manager in leading and developing the team to excel in a sales and service-oriented environment.
  • Communicate and achieve established team and individual objectives for the branch.
  • Maintain accurate cash controls; ensure all branch transactions are balanced on a daily basis.
  • Manage daily deposits in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Support the development, coaching, and guidance of team members, providing leadership through effective goal setting and communication, including a minimum of monthly two-on-one sessions.
  • Ensure high-quality work and operational efficiency by assigning, directing, coordinating, and reviewing tasks.
  • Conduct periodic audits of MSRs cash and vault cash on the premises.
  • Ensure members are well-informed about Credit Union services and policies.
  • Coordinate branch operations with accounting, loan processing, and credit functions; manage expenses and seek cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist the Branch Manager in preparing monthly sales reports.
  • Support branch activity reporting and provide improvement recommendations to management.
  • Process loan requests from all channels while adhering to loan policies and procedures using Meridian Link.
  • Efficiently complete onboarding activities for new member accounts using Meridian.
  • Fill in for the Branch Manager as required.
  • Monitor compliance with all applicable regulations, including, but not limited to, BSA, CIP, and OFAC for all team members.
  • Perform related duties and provide coverage for branch positions as needed.
