Job Title: Continuous Improvement Coordinator (Production/Manufacturing)

Reports to: Operations Manager



Objective:

Oversee the daily activities of the production functions which includes production control planning, scheduling, flow of materials, and monitoring to attain customer and company goals. Utilize Lean Principles to determine root cause analysis, eliminate obstacles, develop trials, and perform PDCA cycles. Continuously look for ways to eliminate waste and improve processes, working in conjunction with the management team. Coach and mentor supervisory and leadership staff.

Responsibilities:

· Review and update standardized work functions with shift leadership so they ensure staff is performing properly throughout all areas of operations.

· Determine daily work process flow from warehouse is meeting production needs so priorities are achieved in all areas of production for customer satisfaction.

· Implement Lean monitoring tools and processes to identify challenges, waste, and inefficiencies.

· Facilitate problem-solving by initially performing root cause analysis and 5 Why analysis on challenges and bottlenecks.

· Develop trials for resolution options and consistently implement PDCA cycles for monitoring and continuous improvement.

· Initiate Kaizen events.

· Formulate strategic improvement hypotheses within the A3 process.

· Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop effective planning methodologies.

· Create a dynamic, efficient, successful, and united leadership team through coaching and mentoring.

· Evaluate associates to provide help with improving and/or correcting performance and behavior.

· Sustain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing staff on policy, 6S, and PPE.

· Oversee structured discipline processes are met by shift leadership.

· Execute the Performance Review process.

· Complete daily production reports and transactional functions.

· Work with Management on assigned projects.

· Adapt and grow as the company evolves in our lean journey.

· Manage Attendance processes.

· Behave, speak, and treat others in a respectful manner.

· Perform additional duties as the position evolves or as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

· High school diploma required; college degree preferred.

· 5 years of sound management background with Lean philosophy and strategies.

· Strong understanding of operational excellence, Lean principles, data analysis, and problem-solving.

· Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and other Operational functions.

· Experience with rapid changeover implementation using Lean tools, standardized work, and PDCA cycles.

· Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work well with others.

· Skilled with Microsoft products such as Word and Excel.

· Will need to be available to work overtime which may include the weekends.

· This position is categorized as Safety Sensitive.
