Position Summary:

The Jr. Accountant is a position responsible for Assisting in the coordination of the accounting department’s workflow, ensuring quality in creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. This position reports to the Director of Finance.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Downloads cash activity daily and records in Great Plains Software.
  • Oversees Accounts Payable. Reviews outstanding POs for items not received and obtaining missing invoices, as necessary.
  • Reviews Accounts Payable Processing in ENVI to ensure that the invoices are processed in a timely manner.
  • Assists AP with the month end close as needed.
  • Backup for Payroll Process to include recording payroll journal entries.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Knowledge of AP processing including invoice coding/entry
  • Ability to work proactively and effectively with others.
  • Ability to work independently and research issues, as necessary.
  • Ability to complete tasks accurately and timely.

Educational & Experience Requirements:

  • Associates Degree
  • Accounts Payable Experience preferred
