JOB TITLE: Maintenance Mechanic Millwright

ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT: PCI Nitrogen Pasadena

DEPARTMENT: Maintenance

LOCATION: Pasadena, TX

 

I. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support the execution of daily maintenance work, project work and plant turnarounds (outages) through safe and efficient field execution of the specified work.  Accurately follow job task plans and accurately document work order activity details upon completion of the work. Other primary duties include: Ensuring that complete and accurate records are kept of all maintenance activities assigned and properly documenting all storeroom withdrawals.

 

II. JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Minimum of four (4) years daily maintenance and reliability experience in the Refining, Petrochemical, or Chemical Processing Industries, as well as some experience in turnaround and unit outage executions. NCCER certified or equivalent is a plus.

 

III.       ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:

Reports to:      Maintenance Supervisor

Works with:    Maintenance Craftsmen, Operators, Supervisors, Superintendents, Engineers, and Managers; Also interfaces with Purchasing and Stores personnel, Contractors, Suppliers, and Vendors.

 

IV. SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on: motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  2. B. Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments such as laser alignment tools, dial indicators, tachometer, infrared camera, ultra sound and vibration analysis tools
  3. C. Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand /power tools
  4. Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
  5. Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions, requests and completing feedback documentation
  6. F. Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs

Experience working on Rotating Kilns/Driers and turbines is a plus.

The majority of the working hours will be in a field environment. Activities will involve wearing appropriate PPE, climbing stairs and working at heights, entry in to confined spaces, working in high noise areas, exposure to hot and cold environments, wearing respirators, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
