Position Overview:

The Millwright will be responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of various machinery and heavy equipment. The position operates on a 4X10 schedule, without per diem provisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and replace defective components of machinery, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Utilize tools such as hoists, jacks, and measuring instruments to align and adjust machinery.
  • Connect power units to machinery and conduct tests to assess mechanical operations.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including lubrication and repairs of equipment.
  • Assemble and install machinery using both hand and power tools.
  • Interpret blueprints and schematic drawings to position and support machinery accurately.
  • Coordinate with crane operators for the safe handling of heavy components.
  • Adjust clearances and alignments of moving parts using precise measuring tools.
  • Safely transport machinery using dollies, rollers, and hoists.
  • Construct foundations for machinery using various building materials.
  • Operate lathes and other machinery to fabricate parts as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned to support operational efficiency.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must be capable of performing physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and working in various positions including kneeling and crawling.

Qualifications:

Education: No formal education requirements.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience at the journeyman level is required.

Licenses/Certifications: Candidates must hold a valid NCCER certification, a driver's license, and a TWIC card.
