Amida is currently looking for a Technical Project Manager to join our team in Washington, DC, hybrid, or remote. In this role you will serve as the primary customer point of contact for assigned projects and will act as the liaison between Amida's customer and our engineering and development team. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and monitoring projects to ensure that they are delivered on time, within budget, and exceeding customer expectations.

What you will do:

  • Oversee all aspects of an Information Technology project, leading a project team or a significant segment of large and complex IT projects
  • Carry responsibility for daily management of one or multiple technical workstreams throughout the life cycle of the program or project
  • Gather the client's technical requirements and represent the company's technical interests and capabilities to the client; participate in and facilitate business analysis and system design activities as requested
  • Develop and track project plans; customize project plans for project communications, risks, costs, resources, quality, costs, scope, and schedule; provide progress reports against the plan
  • Operate in a hybrid Agile-Predictive environment; support a Scaled Agile Framework methodology and planning structure
  • Analyze new and complex project-related problems and create innovative solutions to manage or propose modifications to the cost, scope, schedule, or other aspects of the project
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all contract deliverables and reports
  • Attend client meetings and maintain regular correspondence with clients; document key decisions, requirements, and directives
  • Prepare slide decks and narrative documents to report regularly on project progress and risks internally (to Amida) and externally (to clients)
  • Prepare project budgets and track resources and revenue compared to forecast
  • Communicate and coordinate with subcontractors where Amida is the prime contractor, or communicate with prime contractor where Amida is a sub or a team partner
  • Manage risks and issues over the course of the project life cycle and take corrective measures
  • Identify and manage all staffing needs; engage in labor cost planning; participate in talent acquisition when needed
  • Act as a primary point of contact to the purchaser for all project-related communications and resolution of all issues (or do so along with the Program Manager when the project is part of a larger program of related projects)
  • Hold primary responsibility for quality, deliverables, management of project issues and risks, communication with the client, and management of a project on schedule (or do so along with the Program Manager when the project is part of a larger program of related projects)

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 7+ years of project management experience, including 4+ years of software development project/program management experience (with credit for hands-on implementation or development)
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments while ensuring technical accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; professional-level writing
  • Prior experience working with large and complex client corporations or government agencies
  • Excellent analysis, facilitation, mediation, negotiation, and client relationship skills
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills to include the ability to interact effectively with clients, technical staff, and management across all levels
  • Ability to work comfortably in a rapidly changing environment and flexibility to take on different roles and tasks as needed to ensure program success
  • A dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment
  • Experience in Microsoft Office products such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel to include the ability to create templates, formulas and charts/graphs
  • Advanced level skills using JIRA for requirement, defect, and issue tracking, as well as creation of filters, reports, and dashboards
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. federal government Public Trust security clearance

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with projects involving health care systems and data
  • Ability to travel to a regional office on a monthly or weekly basis (depending on location)
  • Previous experience working on federal government contracts
  • Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification or other widely-recognized project management certification
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or coursework and certifications demonstrating proficiency in project administration and information technology/data management.
