Overview

Sand and Gravel operator looking for Heavy Equipment Mechanic to service equipment at sand and gravel pit in Kerrville, TX.

Job Summary

A full or part time heavy equipment mechanic is needed to service heavy equipment and carry out assignments for a sand and gravel operation. Qualified candidate will have:

  • Experience with heavy equipment, diesel engines, welding, fabrication, crushing equipment.
  • Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting experience required.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment.
  • Experience with computer diagnostics and various makes and models of equipment.
  • Quarry experience a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to communicate issues and repairs.
  • Credited diesel mechanical or trade certifications a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Regular interval Preventative maintenance (PM) based on manufacturers recommendations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot breakdown of equipment as needed.
  • maintain service records on all equipment. Understanding of corrective, PM, and breakdown repairs.
  •  Manage fluid sampling program.
  • Understand and follow MSHA guidelines of equipment maintenance.
Misc operations and tasks
  • Help develop out of service tasks with supervisor.
  • Ensure crew is competent and carrying out pre-run checklists.
  • operate equipment when needed.

Qualified Candidate:
  • Must be willing to work in all kinds of weather and working conditions. Must be willing to assume the physical risks of working in an outdoor environment which includes but is not limited to dust, construction equipment, extreme heat and/or cold and wildlife.
  • Must have ability to exert physical effort, handling average weight objects up to 50 pounds.
