PotCo is hiring for a Full Time Cultivation / IPM Technician

Role Summary

Responsible for assisting the Cultivation Leads and facility Management with the day-to-day maintenance, production events, pest / pathogen management, pesticide applications, and upkeep of cultivation facilities.

Roles Responsibilities

Primary work duties include:

  • Re-potting, watering, soil mixing, fertilizer mixing, pruning, & trellising
  • Harvesting
  • Cloning
  • Cleaning work areas
  • Monitoring of facility systems and informing Supervisor and Manager about issues that arise
  • Responsible for highest standard of cultivation work within production events
  • Daily mixing and application of pesticides (foliar, drench, disinfectant)
  • Outdoor herbicide applications (seasonal)
  • Adherence to pesticide labeling
  • Placement of monitoring cards
  • Manual removal of infested plant foliage
  • Compliance pertaining to provisions outline by the Worker Protection Standard (40 CFR 170)
  • Record keeping
  • Pest and Pathogen Identification
  • Data Entry
  • Supply Inventory
  • Routine maintenance of pesticide application equipment
  • Assist with harvest events
  • Assisting with data collection integrity
  • Adherence to SOP's
  • Adherence to all Training
  • Assist Supervisors/Manager in duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Formal Education and Experience or Equivalent:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain Private Applicators License from CDA

  • Able to obtain state credentials to work in cannabis cultivation facility
  • Basic math skills
  • Valid driver's license and Reliable transportation
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and basic computer skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to obtain all State & Local requirements prior to employment
  • Prior experience working in greenhouse or agricultural experience
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment

Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position that requires but is not limited to, 40 hours per week. Operational hours are dependent on the client and facility operations. This position is required to work weekends and holidays.

Working conditions

This job operates in a commercial agriculture setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to work a minimum of 8 hours a day and rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel for extended periods and repetitively throughout a workday
  • Ability to stand and walk for 8 hours
  • Ability to use a ladder (up to 12 ft. extension) and general hardware tools needed for common repairs

Environmental Demands

Exposure to pollen, allergens, and non-carcinogenic pesticides, dust, odors, extreme temperatures, artificial light, sun exposure, vibrations, elevated CO2 levels, and water.
