Job Summary: The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing commercial construction projects from inception to completion. This role involves managing all aspects of the construction process, including budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, and client communication, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company objectives.

  • Budget Management: Create and manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety.

  • Scheduling & Coordination: Develop detailed project schedules, coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and completion of work.

  • Subcontractor Management: Select, negotiate, and manage contracts with subcontractors, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and quality standards.

  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality control process, ensuring that all work meets design specifications, building codes, and industry standards.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication to provide project updates, address concerns, and manage expectations.

  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and closeout documents.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all construction activities comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management within the commercial construction industry, preferably with a focus on [insert relevant sectors, e.g., retail, healthcare, hospitality, etc.].

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. PMP or other relevant certifications are a plus.

  • Skills:

    • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of successfully delivering commercial construction projects on time and within budget.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
    • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily based on-site at various construction locations within the Orlando area.
  • Occasional travel may be required to meet with clients, visit job sites, or attend industry events.
