We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Transportation team in Orlando, FL. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of transportation design projects for clients such as FDOT, counties, and municipalities.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the design of transportation projects, including geometric alignments, profiles, cross sections, construction, and maintenance of traffic details.
- Manage the creation of engineering documents, including Typical Section Packages, Pavement Design Reports, and Variation/Exception Reports.
- Perform advanced MicroStation/Open Roads processes and coordinate plans, calculations, and specifications amongst multi-discipline engineering teams.
- Internally manage a team of up to 4 engineers developing plans, calculations, and specifications.
- Perform internal Quality Control to ensure designs, plans, and calculations are complete and accurate.
- Assist Project Managers in various project administrative duties.
- Participate in business development activities, assisting in the creation of letters of response and technical proposals/presentations.
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college.
- FL Professional Engineering Registration.
- Proficiency in advanced MicroStation/Open Roads processes required.
- Experience with 3D Corridor Modeling a strong plus.
- Drainage design is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of FDOT plans preparation criteria and design standards.
- Knowledge of other transportation disciplines, including drainage, signing and pavement marking, signalization, and intelligent transportation systems.
- Strong work ethic and ability to organize and manage small to medium-sized engineering design teams.
- Exceptional verbal communication and technical writing skills.
- Ability to train and mentor entry-level and junior staff.
