Environmental Health and Safety Engineer

Established in 2022, LA Semiconductor is a US Owned and Operated, Fully Operational, Pure-Play Semiconductor Foundry for Analog, Mixed Signal, and Power Products

LA Semiconductor is looking for Environmental Engineer to find creative design solutions to pressing environmental problems, requiring a good deal of creative thinking and problem-solving skills. The Environmental Engineer is responsible for compliance reporting, designing programs to assist in environmental compliance and conservation, evaluating systems to determine the impact of commercial activity, and advising the company on environmental best practices. Integrates environmental performance objectives into standard work processes. Develops strategies to achieve these goals in alignment with the site business goals and values. Assists all employees in understanding compliance measures and supports change management applications as required.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure assigned environmental permits are up-to-date, adequate, and the site’s compliance obligations are being met.
  • Develops and manages environmental programs such as waste management including hazardous wastes, pollution prevention, and protection of the environment.
  • Assessing the environmental risk of activities and advising management on impacts.
  • Completion of any regulatory submissions, notifications, etc. required to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local environmental requirements.
  • Track, prepare, and submit reports for SARA 312 Tier II, SARA 313 TRI, GHG, Air Quality Permit, LQG RCRA Hazardous Waste, POTW Wastewater Permit, and Application Specific HFC Allowance Requests and Reporting.
  • Lead the development and ensure delivery of company EHS policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the monitoring, recording, and disposal of hazardous waste generated at the facility.
  • Conduct routine Environment, health, and safety audits and inspections, including audits of ISO:14001 & ISO:45001.
  • Conduct annual required training, new employee training and tracking of training.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

 

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor/master’s degree in mechanical/chemical/industrial/civil engineering or environmental science.
  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience; semiconductor manufacturing a plus.
