Position Summary
The Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of a variety of mechanical equipment, including cement mixer trucks and construction machinery. This role involves diagnosing issues and executing repairs to ensure optimal performance of all equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensuring cost-effective and reliable repairs.
- Dismantle machinery to access and replace defective components using hand tools and hoists.
- Conduct maintenance on heavy machinery and vehicles across the organization.
- Perform routine servicing tasks such as oil changes, fluid replacements, and filter changes, adhering to preventative maintenance schedules.
- Repair and maintain electrical and hydraulic systems, as well as diesel and gasoline engines.
- Manage inventory by ordering necessary parts and supplies, maintaining accurate records of purchases.
- Adjust and calibrate equipment components and control instruments.
- Conduct performance tests on repaired equipment to ensure functionality.
- Weld and fabricate parts as needed to restore equipment integrity.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following safety protocols at all times.
- Participate in drug testing and medical evaluations as required.
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in mechanical repair.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including safety guidelines and maintenance manuals.

- Valid driver's license is required.
