Position Summary

The Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of a variety of mechanical equipment, including cement mixer trucks and construction machinery. This role involves diagnosing issues and executing repairs to ensure optimal performance of all equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, ensuring cost-effective and reliable repairs.
  • Dismantle machinery to access and replace defective components using hand tools and hoists.
  • Conduct maintenance on heavy machinery and vehicles across the organization.
  • Perform routine servicing tasks such as oil changes, fluid replacements, and filter changes, adhering to preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Repair and maintain electrical and hydraulic systems, as well as diesel and gasoline engines.
  • Manage inventory by ordering necessary parts and supplies, maintaining accurate records of purchases.
  • Adjust and calibrate equipment components and control instruments.
  • Conduct performance tests on repaired equipment to ensure functionality.
  • Weld and fabricate parts as needed to restore equipment integrity.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following safety protocols at all times.
  • Participate in drug testing and medical evaluations as required.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in mechanical repair.
