Environmental Test Technician

We are looking for a driven Environmental Testing technician to support our growing environmental testing team to bring our products to full scale production. Your role will involve performing component and unit level functional testing, vibration, thermal, thermal vacuum, shock and other testing that stress our hardware to ensure it will meet the requirements of the mission. If you enjoy thinking outside the box, real time problem solving, and Space lasers this role is for you

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform thermal vacuum, thermal cycling, vibration and shock testing for development, qualification and acceptance test campaigns.
  • Support bench top test setups as well as environment specific test support systems.
  • Coordinates and performs the environmental testing of products to validate design and manufacturing process.
  • Evaluates the data gathered during testing and the validity of the results.
  • Ensure product meets performance and quality requirements as well as identifies, troubleshoots and documents testing anomalies.
  • Identifies any problems with new products; provides recommendations to resolve and coordinate issues and problems with engineering, production and test teams.
  • Continues testing and analysis until results are within product requirements and specifications.
  • Continuous collaboration with the design, test and operations fostering a team-oriented mindset that supports an alignment towards organizational goals
  • Supports prototype builds ensuring incremental milestones for the production development are met.
  • Identify tooling and test hardware requirements, design and implement it into production processes.
  • Identify automation opportunities and establish requirements as well as evaluating return on investment for each.
  • Work with in-house resources or vendors as necessary to develop these solutions and implement them on the production line.
  • Support offsite testing with vendors as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated experience working in a highly adaptive and iterative environment.
  • Experience transitioning products from design to environmental testing and scaling to high volume as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Experience in aerospace, semiconductor, or electronic manufacturing environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to discuss product flaws in a constructive and positive manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare test reports and proposals.
  • Creative and confident problem solver that can leverage resources and is solution driven
  • Ability to prioritize and follow through on tasks
  • Team player that has a service mentality and thrives in fast paced environments

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factory.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.
  • Must be able to lift twenty-five pounds at times.
  • Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.

PAY: $27 per hour - $30 per hour

This base pay range is for the role located in Los Angeles, California and in the US and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location. In addition to competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed.
