Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Summary:

The Returns Manager will be responsible for managing daily returns operations. They will ensure that customer returns are processed in a timely and efficient manner. The Returns Manager must be analytical, well-organized, and excel in communication. They must be comfortable with paperwork and information systems, as well as have a strong knowledge of returns and crediting best practices. They must have a clear leadership style that promotes accountability and teamwork. The Manager provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers and demonstrates a strict level of confidentiality with all team members while serving as an ambassador of our culture.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of all material returns processes.
  • Provide support and timely action to all inquiries from internal and external customers and maintain positive relations with both.
  • Direct manpower needs on the floor to provide consistent lead times and operate within metric constraints.
  • Maintain industrial gas inventory, oversee tank exchanges, purchases, and purchase order reconciliation with receiving/vendor/AP.
  • Control rental tool fleet, expedite all rental tool repairs as needed and procure consumables and replacement components.
  • Provide resources for all hardware/software system driven processes pertaining to the functionality of the returns team and their use of the CSD ERP/WMS interface.
  • Develop a significant understanding of the CSD ERP and TWL WMS to allow effective teaching and basic troubleshooting when issues arise that impede return team workflow.
  • Manage all important documents pertaining to Returns processes and flow charts, special case information from customers, any excel files and other metric driven reports, and documentation regarding tool repair receipts, rental tool functionality certifications, receipts of purchase for not for resale items that the team would use and other documents as needed.
  • Supervise and lead the Returns team.
  • Hire, train, and develop new team members.
  • Conduct performance evaluations regularly to assess performance and provide feedback.
  • Record daily attendance and oversee PTO.
  • Ensure team members comply with proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines for safety.
  • Manage the Returns department budget, including forecasting and cost control measures.
  • Facilitate team goal setting, aligning departmental objectives and fostering a team environment.
  • Handle employee terminations following company policies and procedures when necessary.
  • Be proactive and forward thinking when analyzing current process flow to provide directives for efficiency and production improvements.
  • Collaborate with other operational teams and management for overall success and optimal processes
  • Demonstrates company core values and best practices.
  • Exemplifies dedication to customer satisfaction with superior experience.
  • Assigns work to the Returns team and ensures paperwork is complete and accurate.
  • May operate dolly, pallet jack, crane, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate a shrink wrap machine.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and continuous quality improvement objectives.
  • Adheres to all Company safety rules, standards, and guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proven track record of managing 15+ employees in a warehouse environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and/or proficiency in Six Sigma, 5S principles, and basic inventory management.
  • Requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must possess strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.
  • Must be able to communicate in English regarding the essential functions of the position.
Required Experience and Education:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five years of prior warehouse experience with a focus on distribution.
  • Four years of prior management experience with a focus on distribution.
  • Prior crane and cherry picker operations preferred.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and/or pull 50 lbs.
  • Requires visual, hearing, and speech acuity.
  • Requires the ability to stand and walk long distances for extended periods of time.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures and elements, noise, and fumes.
