Large ENT Practice in Raleigh is looking to add to its well-established clinical team. We have 6 locations in Brier Creek, Cary, Garner, Holly Springs, Raleigh, and Wake Forest. We are currently hiring a Triage RN or LPN.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Performs telephone triage as ordered by the provider.
- Engage in telephone consultations with patients, offering guidance on the appropriate course of action, which may involve directing them to emergency rooms (ERs), urgent care centers, or their primary care physicians
- Conduct concise assessments of patients' conditions to gauge the severity of their illness or injury, including gathering information about their primary complaints and, when possible, collecting vital signs and mental status information.
- Determine the urgency of seeing the patient based on a brief assessment and familiarity with a patient's condition and history. May use a computerized medical information database, which uses algorithms that closely imitate physician logic and thought patterns, as a guide. Consult with a physician as necessary.
- Performs assessments and patient treatments as ordered by the provider.
- Directs test results to physicians for review.
- Provides patient education as needed.
- Assists with minor office procedures.
- Collects and documents patient information thoroughly and consistently.
- Assists in the Clinic as needed/directed
- Assists in the post-operative execution of physician orders.
- Respects and maintains confidentiality.
- Works in a safe, compliant and ethical manner at all times.
Basic Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license.
- RN or LPN degree; Current state RN/LPN license. Current BLS certificate or ability to complete within 60 days of hire . On-the-job training in triage is preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and calmly with patients.
- Ability to work closely with physicians and other clinicians as needed.
- Knowledge of telephone-based clinical assessment techniques.
- Knowledge of medical practice telephone triage protocols.
- Ability to use electronic medical records to check patient history
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8 am- 5 pm. No weekends. No Holidays.
