Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Triage Nurse or LPN to perform telephone triage, engage in patient consultations, and conduct assessments to determine the urgency of patient care. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of medical protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform telephone triage as ordered by the provider, engaging in consultations with patients and providing guidance on the appropriate course of action.
- Conduct concise assessments of patients' conditions, gathering information about their primary complaints and collecting vital signs and mental status information when possible.
- Determine the urgency of seeing the patient based on a brief assessment and familiarity with a patient's condition and history.
- Consult with a physician as necessary and perform assessments and patient treatments as ordered by the provider.
- Direct test results to physicians for review and provide patient education as needed.
- Assist with minor office procedures and collect and document patient information thoroughly and consistently.
- Assist in the Clinic as needed/directed and assist in the post-operative execution of physician orders.
- Respect and maintain confidentiality and work in a safe, compliant, and ethical manner at all times.
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license.
- RN or LPN degree; Current state RN/LPN license.
- Current BLS certificate or ability to complete within 60 days of hire.
- On-the-job training in triage is preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly and calmly with patients.
- Ability to work closely with physicians and other clinicians as needed.
- Knowledge of telephone-based clinical assessment techniques and medical practice telephone triage protocols.
- Ability to use electronic medical records to check patient history.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am- 5 pm. No weekends. No Holidays.
