Resident Engineer

Hoyle Tanner's Northeast Ground Transportation Services Group is looking for a Resident Engineer to join our team in our Manchester New Hampshire or Chelmsford, Massachusetts office. Work on great projects, with great people, while enjoying great benefits at Hoyle, Tanner & Associates, Inc.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Monitor and review spent hours and dollars versus percent complete in relation to project timelines and budget and provide recommendations to the Project Manager to stay on track
- Understand the client's organization and develop professional relationships with client peers
- Develop proficiency in software programs and other tools to support construction inspection and review processes
- Provide suggestions to resolve project timeline issues and budget issues
- Provide peer mentoring for new construction technician staff
- Review and approve progress payments submitted by the Contractor and monitor and advise the Contractor and the Client on potential cost overruns/underruns
- Facilitate difficult project decisions and technical issues with clients and contractors
- Ensure as-built field conditions are well documented and defended
- Lead regular meetings with clients and contractors
- Prepare, review, and approve change orders and value engineering proposals
- Thoroughly review construction schedule, offer comments and recommendations to the Contractor and Client to resolve discrepancies, areas of conflict, potential schedule overruns
Qualifications
- BS or MS degree in civil engineering or a related field, and 5+ years of construction inspection experience
- PE Licensure
- Certification in OSHA 10 Construction and Confined Space for Construction, OR HAZWOPER
- Valid driver’s license
- Certification in one or more of the programs offered by NICET, ACI, NETTCP or approved alternate
- Ability to perform tasks that involve moderate to strenuous physical activity
