Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer - Phased Array Radar Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Aerospace and Defense (ADEF) business unit.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to design and develop cutting-edge integrated modules and subsystems for phased array radar systems. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the mechanical design of phased array subassembly hardware, incorporating RF modules, control electronics, power systems, cabling, and liquid cooling. You will work in a collaborative team environment, interfacing with electrical designers, process engineers, program managers, and production assembly through all program phases from research through design and production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead mechanical design of phased array subassembly hardware, incorporating RF modules, control electronics, power systems, cabling, and liquid cooling.
  • Hands-on use of 3D CAD system for rapid development.
  • Apply Systems Engineering principles, performing requirements analysis and trade-study on ADI platform designs for industrial markets.
  • Development and integration of liquid flow through (LFT) cooling solutions, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis using Ansys Fluent.
  • Collaborate with engineers, and other employee disciplines across multiple ADI design center locations.
  • Prepare design review documentation packages for presentation at customer design review meetings.
  • Design of innovative mechanical packaging solutions for surface mount technology (SMT) and complex multi-chip-module (MCM) assemblies.
  • Perform system level structural analysis to ensure reliable operation over wide ranges of environmental conditions.
  • Prepare and collaborate on design and fabrication documentation for SMT, printed wiring assemblies (PWAs) and mechanical assemblies.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Master's degree in a related discipline is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in an engineering role related to phased array radar, RF and microwave electronics, high-reliability products, or another related field is preferred.
  • Experienced user of SolidWorks, and Ansys Mechanical required.
  • Experienced user of Ansys Fluent or equivalent full CFD solver.
  • Requires strong organizational and planning skills, as well as technical and communications capabilities.
  • Candidate must have a desire to grow and take on additional responsibilities within the engineering role, in new technology development.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance required.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required.
