Job Summary

Triton Systems, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team working on projects related to large marine systems. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for creating detailed designs for large systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create detailed designs for large systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements
  • Participate in the creation of prototypes and conduct tests to validate design assumptions and ensure structural integrity
  • Perform structural analysis and simulations to predict the behavior and performance of large structures and weldments under various conditions
  • Evaluate and select appropriate materials for the construction of large components based on strength, durability, and cost considerations
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports and analysis reports
  • Identify and resolve engineering issues that arise during the design, fabrication, and testing of large prototype systems
Requirements
  • Masters or Bachelors Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent, or relevant experience
  • 2+ years of experience of mechanical design in SolidWorks
  • 0-10 years of relevant steel structure strength analysis experience
  • Experience in FEA results analysis and interpretation
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of metallic materials and weldments
  • Knowledge of marine systems
  • Experience with fabrication and construction methods of large steel structures
  • Able to understand and work with offshore standards (DNV, ABS, CCS, BV etc)
Location

Greater Boston, Massachusetts based, with hybrid/in-person flexibility
