Job Overview and Requirements
Portnoff Law Associates, Ltd. seeks an experienced Writ of Execution Paralegal to join our team.
We are looking for an organized individual with experience working in a high-volume practice drafting motions and pleadings, preparing correspondence, and conducting investigative skip tracing.
The ideal candidate will be experienced, dependable, detail-oriented, and possess excellent time management and interpersonal communication skills.
*This position will have a hybrid work schedule (in office/remote)*
Essential Responsibilities
- Prepare and file bankruptcy pleadings as directed or as needed.
- Prepare correspondence to attorneys, courthouse personnel or debtors as directed or as needed.
- Prepare writs of execution as assigned.
- Order title searches and identify ownership changes/anomalies.
- Prepare notice to continue or stay sales as needed.
- Conduct daily review of cash receipts journal, rediary corresponding file(s) appropriately and update tracking log accordingly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
Essential Requirements
- One (1) or more years of prior paralegal experience. Familiarity with Rules of Civil Procedure related to Bankruptcy proceedings preferred.
- Experience e-filing pleadings.
- Ability to work as part of a team while maintaining professional working relationships with a diverse group of individuals.
- Initiative, including strong follow-up skills.
- Receptive to feedback at all levels.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Must demonstrate skills of poise, diplomacy and tact.
- PC Proficient: Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills.
- Continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials as well as establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Dependable, with strong work ethic and personal integrity.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (B.A./B.S.) or three (3) plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
