We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company's expense reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial transactions. The Accounting Specialist will play a crucial role in maintaining the overall financial health of the organization.

Accounting Specialist Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Expense Report Reconciliation and Administration:
    • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate payment and accounting records.
    • Verify expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies.
    • Support employees with questions and issues they have with expense reporting.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors through effective communication and issue resolution.
    • Address vendor inquiries and discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Invoice Processing:
    • Review and process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts to verify pricing, quantities, terms, and approvals.
  • Payment Processing:
    • Prepare and process weekly check runs, electronic payments, and wire transfers.
    • Manage payment schedules to take advantage of early payment discounts and optimize cash flow.
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and relevant regulations.
    • Maintain accurate and organized documentation for audit purposes.
  • Month-End Closing:
    • Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts payable, including reconciliation of supporting documentation to the general ledger.
    • Provide necessary reports and analyses to support financial reporting.
Accounting Specialist Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or
  • Relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficient in accounting software (SAP a plus) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
