Job Description: Executive Assistant for non-profit ministry


The Executive Assistant may be involved in many areas of the global work of Horizons, with special emphasis on the administrative needs of the President of Horizons, based in Boulder, CO. Depending on the background and circumstances of the applicant, this position can be full-time (40 hrs/week) or part-time (25-30 hrs/week).


Skills Needed:


  • Needs to know and understand the mission of Horizons and be able to reflect it in their communication. 
  • Needs to proactively assist the President in project management
  • Needs to organize their time to manage a variety of tasks in different spheres of the ministry.
  • The assistant needs to have good communication skills and a desire to interact with a variety of people in and outside of the organization.


General Duties:


The tasks and responsibilities of the Assistant may include these departments:


  • Training
    • Assist with coordination of training programs locally, nationally, and globally that the President is involved with.
  • Media and Communication Department
    • Work with the Communications team to provide the President with material related to fundraising, training, etc.
    • Assist with the set up of a studio and podcast production
  • Global ministry including MENA
    • Collaborate with the team that is primarily based in Beirut, Lebanon
  • Development and Fundraising
    • Writing emails or letters to donors
  • General administrative needs:
    • Mail and E-mail management
    • Travel logistics
    • Answering phones and taking messages
    • Prepare Keynote presentations for the Training program and others as needed.


All staff will at various times need to serve in areas outside of their job description.
