Currently seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join the Avon, OH team and lead the execution of large commercial projects.

The Construction Project Manager will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of large commercial construction projects. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of construction processes and methodologies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large commercial projects from inception through completion.



Responsibilities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning and Scheduling:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to establish project timelines and deliverables.
  • Utilize project management software to monitor progress and make necessary adjustments.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage the project team, including subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

Budget Management:

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints.
  • Approve expenditures and implement cost-control measures.
  • Regularly report on financial performance to senior management.

Quality Control:

  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Handle any issues or conflicts that arise during the construction process.
  • Ensure all work complies with local, state, and federal regulations.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Provide regular project updates and address any concerns promptly.
  • Maintain strong relationships with all project stakeholders.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, and change orders.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
  • Ensure all project closeout documentation is completed and filed appropriately.
Required Skills

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience managing large commercial construction projects.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore, Primavera).
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is preferred but not required.
  • OSHA certification or similar safety training is an advantage.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in budgeting and financial management.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to visit and inspect construction sites, which may involve climbing, bending, and walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Capability to work in varying weather conditions as needed.
