Restoration Project Manager/Lead Technician Job Summary


This important position within the cleaning & restoration industry is responsible for overseeing all aspects of restoration projects including water/fire/smoke/mold damage, ensuring projects are properly scheduled, planned, and completed efficiently and on budget, while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction. The Project Manager/Lead Technician will schedule, plan, budget, manage and oversee water and other restoration projects; inspect and document restoration projects from start to finish including performing field inspections, taking photographs/videos, measurements, and moisture readings, and using project management software to estimates and reports; manage, supervise, and train technicians in water, fire, smoke and mold remediation standards and processes; timely communicate and coordinate with all interested parties including homeowners, insurance representatives, vendors, subcontractors, technicians and labor to ensure timely completion of all projects; and foster team culture and a positive work environment while providing leadership, training, and guidance to technicians and others. To be considered, candidates must have proven experience in water/fire/smoke/mold mitigation jobs and project management, as well as relevant IICRC certifications including WRT, AMRT, and ASD. This role is suited for a dynamic leader looking to make a significant impact in a fast-paced environment with exceptional growth opportunities.

Restoration Project Manager/Lead Technician Responsibilities


  • Effectively schedule, plan, budget, manage and oversee water and other restoration projects (fire/smoke/mold).
  • Properly assess, document and report all restoration projects from start to finish including performing field inspections, taking photographs/videos, measurements, and moisture readings, and using project management software to estimates and reports.
  • Effectively manage, supervise, and train technicians in water, fire, smoke and mold remediation standards and processes.
  • Effectively and timely communicate and coordinate with insurance representatives, vendors, subcontractors, technicians and labor to ensure timely completion of all projects.
  • Foster team culture and positive work environment while providing leadership, training, and guidance to technicians and others.

Restoration Project Manager Qualifications


  • 3+ years of proven experience in water and mold damage restoration/project management role within the restoration industry.
  • Current IICRC (Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification) certifications required: WRT, AMRT, ASD (optional).
  • Strong understanding of operational processes, employee management skills, and excellent customer service.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to lead crew of technicians and temp labor.
  • Ability to strategize, solve problems effectively, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven knowledge of and experience in insurance claims process: claims documentation, Xactimate estimates, satisfying adjuster requirements.
  • Proficiency in computer technologies including CRM/scheduling/project management tools, Xactimate, Word, Excel, computers, iPads, phones, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to work in the field with technician crews.
