Job DescriptionJob Description

The Restoration Manager oversees all aspects of assigned restoration projects and assigned Production/Restoration crews. Their responsibilities are centered around customer satisfaction, revenue growth, profit growth, management development, and staff development. This front-line management position leads their team to operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:

Safety

  1. Recognizes and documents safety hazards.
  2. Identifies PPE needs and enforces adherence to proper usage.
  3. Adheres to and oversees work site safety protocols and franchise safety guidelines.
  4. Attends and participates in team safety meetings.
  5. Maintains assigned PPE kit.


Work Habits

  1. Attendance and punctuality consistently maintained.
  2. Uses work time appropriately for job responsibilities.
  3. Follows accurate procedure for requesting time off and notifying management of time off.
  4. Manages stress, conflict, and frustration in a constructive manner (i.e. seeks assistance/direction, when necessary, remains calm and professional in stressful situations).
  5. Maintains well-organized physical and digital records, documentation, and workspace.
  6. Assists Operations with scheduling and dispatching of Restoration staff, as needed.
  7. Assists Human Resources with training and development of Restoration staff, as needed.
  8. Acts as a resource for Large Loss Team, as needed.


Priority Response

  1. Responds and initiate services utilizing crews and subcontractors as needed.
  2. Evaluates customer priorities and project needs.
  3. Consults with potential customers and sells services, converting leads into viable jobs.
  4. Communicates initial inspection findings and ongoing activities with stakeholders.
  5. Identifies safety hazards, communicates, and establish control measures to ensure the safety of occupants and workers.
  6. Initiates mitigation/remediation services.
  7. Determines salvageable items and materials.


Scope/Plan

  1. Creates and reviews project scopes of work and estimates for accuracy.
  2. Negotiates scope of work and/or pricing to obtain required approval.
  3. Creates and maintains a project timeline.
  4. Reviews work orders to ensure direction corresponds to efficient completion of the scope of work.
  5. Communicates expectations and order of operations of planned mitigation/remediation activities to Restoration Supervisors and oversees their activities.
  6. Plans for and schedules subcontracted services.


Project Management

  1. Coordinates, plans, and manages work activities of projects to ensure quality standards are met.
  2. Manages and ensures submission of accurate project documentation and communications to all stakeholders.
  3. Creates project budget and manages job costs to maintain profitability.
  4. Performs quality control inspections throughout the project and takes corrective actions as needed.
  5. Maintains communication with internal and external stakeholders daily.


Job Knowledge

  1. Demonstrates understanding of concepts, software, techniques, etc. necessary to accomplish job duties.
  2. Follows policies/protocols in carrying out job responsibilities.
  3. Responds correctly to inquiries; consults with others/uses resources as appropriate.
  4. SERVPRO U assignments completed.
  5. Continues development of leadership and management skills, as well as restoration expertise.
  6. Maintains expertise of and capability to execute any role or responsibility assigned to Restoration Technicians or Restoration Supervisors.


Customer/Client Service

  1. Manages the execution of an exceptional customer/client experience while identifying and implementing activities for incremental improvement.
  2. Communicates restoration processes and establishes expectations with stakeholders.
  3. Listens to stakeholder concerns or complaints and takes appropriate action.
  4. Explains all the required paperwork to customers and obtains signatures as needed.
  5. Manages damage reimbursement expenses.
  6. Maintains communication with all stakeholders on progress of job.


Expense/Asset Management

  1. Manages Restoration expenses according to company guidelines.
  2. Controls labor and consumable usage on assigned projects.
  3. Manages assets by protecting and using equipment, tools, and materials properly.
  4. Manages procurement of operating supplies to maintain adequate on-hand inventory.
  5. Manages inventory processes of equipment and tools.
  6. Performs daily, weekly, and monthly vehicle and equipment maintenance.
  7. Maintains SERVPRO brand compliance.


Job Documentation

  1. Accurate photograph and document of work sites.
  2. Documents an accurate scope of work for needed services.
  3. Composes a daily comprehensive job diary to include all services performed.
  4. Verifies all required information is entered into appropriate software application.
  5. Documents and/or perform final review of job files to support the services provided.


Teamwork

  1. Is pleasant, cooperative, and gets along well with others in the workplace.
  2. Contributes to the achievement of franchise and team goals.
  3. Ability to appropriately handle conflict with others in the workplace.
  4. Takes initiative to be a part of the team and build strong working relationships with others.
  5. Is proactive in helping the team fully assist the customer.


Training

  1. Manage, assign, and/or facilitate franchise training.
  2. Manage assigned Restoration Personnel.
  3. Coach and train assigned Restoration Personnel.
  4. Follows up with assigned restoration personnel and verifies proficiency in newly learned skill sets.
  5. Conducts and/or coordinates safety training for restoration staff.
  6. Takes initiative to be a part of the team and build strong working relationships with others.
  7. Is proactive in helping the team fully assist the customer.
  8. Recruit Restoration Personnel.


HR Administration

  1. Recruits, interviews, and provides recommendations on employment offers in coordination with human resources.
  2. Listen, review, and resolve conflicts between employees, as necessary.
  3. Ensure assigned restoration staff accurately records time and approve all assigned staff timecards each payroll period.
  4. Monitor performance of direct reports to identify coaching and training needs.
  5. Conduct annual employee reviews of assigned restoration staff in coordination with the Restoration Operations Manager.
