Part-Time, Hourly / Non-Exempt, Tuesday - Saturday

We are a nationally recognized non-profit organization that sells gently used furniture, appliances, building supplies and more, to raise funds for Milwaukee Habitat efforts to build safe and affordable housing in the City of Milwaukee.

Habitat ReStore is looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, hardworking, and have an excellent work ethic. If you enjoy learning and working in an environment where no two days are the same, this position may be for you.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customer Service:
    • Provide excellent customer service: greeting customers, responding to customers’ inquiries
    • Works on the sales floor, at the sales counter, operates the cash register and answers incoming phone calls
    • Works alongside volunteers to provide positive experiences while meeting daily goals
    • Maintains a neat, safe, clean and organized retail area, dock and donations center
  • Warehouse:
    • Offers donor assistance in unloading donation drop offs
    • Assists in loading and unloading trucks in a safe and timely manner
    • Able to frequently and safely lift and move furniture, large appliances and building material
    • Must be able to lift and maneuver at least 50 pounds
    • Works safely, using proper lifting techniques
    • Help clean and move priced items to the showroom floor

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience:
    • 6 months of recent retail experience
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    • Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching in awkward or tiring positions; most of the time spent standing, walking or otherwise assisting customers
    • Volunteer experience preferred
    • Able to pass pre-employment screening

Compensation

  • $15.30 per hour
  • Part-time schedule: No more than 29 hours per week, must be able to work Saturdays and at least 2 other days per week.
