Wood County Hospital is now accepting applications for a Pain and Spine Management Coordinator. The Pain and Spine Management Team Coordinator provides administrative support to the Director to ensure the efficient operation of the office environment.

Job Duties:

  • Assists all new employees with setup and the onboarding of key office functions.
  • Maintains and participates in all scheduling, check-in, and check-out processes.
  • Coordinates office processes related to authorizations and billing with appropriate departments
  • Runs weekly and monthly manual reports from EMR and works with IS when automated reports are needed.
  • Participates in policy & procedure development as needed in areas such as scheduling, registration, and billing
  • Coordinates customer service relations by following up on patient complaints in coordination with Director.
  • Coordinates the schedule of meetings and other routine communications.
  • Maintains high standards of professional and customer service-focused interactions with both internal and external customers.
  • Coordinates incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, faxes, mail, and phone calls
  • Attends and takes minutes for all staff meetings and support other meeting and conferencing needs.
  • Coordinates appointment messaging software and patient satisfaction surveys, communicating with patients as needed.
  • Insures and verifies the collection of correct and adequate patient information.
  • Acts as a liaison to other hospital departments.
  • Monitors provider and practice performance and assist in setting goals.
  • Assists the Director in reviewing and approval of time and attendance as needed.
  • Maintains open communication with hospital departments, referring physicians, staff physicians, and employees.

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift: Days 

Minimum Qualifications:        

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years’ experience in health care or physician office environment is required.
Preferred Certification/License:
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant preferred
Preferred Experience:        
  • Electronic Medical Records, Practice Management software, word processing, and spreadsheet applications preferred.
  • 1-2 years medical terminology experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years insurance industry knowledge preferred.
  • Experience doing prior authorizations preferred.
