Job Summary

Commonwealth Pain & Spine is seeking a highly skilled Medical Support Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our medical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage and Patient Preparation: Perform vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight, and height, at each patient visit.
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Management: Sit down with patients, complete designated areas of the EMR, and ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  • Medication Coordination: Coordinate blood thinner medicines for procedures with cardiologists and post-op pain medicines with patient surgeons.
  • Provider Support: Monitor provider buckets in Athena, provide patient information to providers prior to patient evaluation, and introduce patients to providers.
  • Room Preparation and Cleaning: Prepare and clean Eval Rooms and Procedure Rooms for patient encounters, ensuring a safe and clean environment.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform patient drug screening, prepare patients for pain procedures, assist providers with pain procedures, care for patients in Recovery, and assist patients during check-out and transportation.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a medical support role or related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
