Role Summary and Qualifications

The Manager of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nursing is responsible for ensuring exceptional, patient-focused care through effective oversight of daily operations and staffing within the unit. This role involves monitoring and evaluating nursing care delivery in line with established protocols, while holding staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating departmental services with the hospital's core functions, integrating services within the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Nuclear Cardiology, and Echocardiography.
  • Developing and implementing policies that support service delivery.
  • Ensuring a sufficient number of qualified personnel are available to provide care.
  • Assessing the qualifications and competencies of department staff.
  • Continuously evaluating and enhancing departmental performance.
  • Maintaining quality control programs.
  • Facilitating orientation, training, and ongoing education for department personnel.
  • Serving as the Chest Pain Center Coordinator, which includes:
    • Leading educational initiatives for Chest Pain Accreditation.
    • Participating in the Chest Pain Center Accreditation Team.
    • Coordinating process improvements to align with established cardiac care standards.
    • Providing annual education to staff and assisting in onboarding new hires.
    • Engaging in community outreach for cardiovascular risk screening.
    • Contributing to the budget process related to Chest Pain Accreditation.
    • Overseeing cardiac data management to ensure accuracy and facilitate clinical evaluations.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant state.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within one year of hire.
  • Experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab is essential.
  • Strong leadership and management skills are highly desirable.
