Position Overview

This position is responsible for quality element control related to operation, auditing policy and procedure, leading quality improvement projects, driving defect prevention and detections. The position is responsible for site quality assurance and control processes from material sampling to execution of environmental monitoring plans.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the maintenance and implementation of new consumer marketing specific quality system certifications (SQF)
  • Ensures that all material brought into the facility is complaint per supply quality program
  • Manages supply quality program for consumer marketing related materials
  • Ensuring raw materials are sampled and sent for specified testing at specification determined frequency
  • Manages Change Control related to Consumer Marketing initiatives through Intellect
  • Prepares, reviews, and approves batch records
  • Creates internal COAs (Certificate of Analysis) for released raw materials
  • Creates external COAs for released finished products
  • Production Line Release
  • Monitors Production activities against cGMP requirements
  • Executes Environmental Monitoring Program requirements
  • Trains incoming employees on cGMP and other quality programs as required
  • Work with remote quality team to update and implement food safety plans
  • Audits implementation of quality system for effectiveness by verifying operation activities to company, customer, and regulatory specification
  • Communicates as needed with Supply Quality for ingredient qualification
  • Monitors customer complaints as assigned and corrective action system
  • Plays a key role in maintaining comprehensive quality program
  • Champions problem solving efforts and assures implementation
  • Drives prevention vs. detection of defects
  • Supports customer, regulatory and 2nd/3rd party audits to meet compliance
  • Aides in development and implementation of SOPs and SSOPs
  • Shared responsibility with Production Manager for sanitation program which includes sanitation procedures, housekeeping, and pest control procedures that are required per 21 CFR part 111 Section 111.15
  • Follows cGMP standards, SOP’s, Food Safety Standards and workplace safety standards.

Requirements

  • College Coursework or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • 2 years' experience in food/dietary supplements quality department
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
