HFS Company is a nationally recognized AEC project management and consulting firm working through prime contracts on a variety of federal and military medical projects throughout the US and Europe. We provide support services across the entire facilities lifecycle to help our clients reach their capital improvement goals economically and strategically.

Perform construction phase services in support of the preparation and renovation of parts of the mammography department at Bay Pines VA Healthcare System.

Duties may include: Conduct daily inspections of site work, building construction work; documents discrepancies, code violations, improper materials or techniques in the application of materials, substandard or poor-quality workmanship; monitors schedules on various aspects of ongoing daily activities to identify and mitigate project slippage and coordinate project phasing.

Review submittals and RFIs. Conduct/attend weekly project meetings. Review testing/inspection reports. Revise proposed utility services and/or traffic interruption plans. Maintain materials/supplies inventory. Assist in documentation of change orders. Perform weekly Safety Inspection and Prepare Safety Inspection Reports. Preform daily manpower and work activity reports.

Review requests for payment. Preparing estimates for changes and review change quotes. Identify progress delays. Maintain project plans and specs. Compile deficiency logs and follow up on correction. Prepare inspection punch lists and coordinate resolutions of items. Coordinate inspections and testing with outside entities. Take digital photos of construction progress. Assist with contract close-out activities.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years' hands on construction and construction QA experience to include site work, contract documents, submittals, RFIs, and considerable overlap with all construction trades (i.e. architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, irrigation, landscaping, hardscaping)
  • 3+ years' experience on healthcare/hospital projects of similar size, scope and complexity
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering/architecture/construction preferred or 20+ years' experience in lieu of degree
  • Knowledgeable in phase inspections, CPM P6 schedules and safety requirements from OSHA and EM 385-1-1
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes, standards and regulations
  • Current OSHA 30 certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to include English proficiency
  • Working proficiency on MS Office applications
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Previous experience with federal projects a plus
