Department: Mission and Social Justice
Schedule: Tuesdays-Fridays, 9am-1pm
Salary Range: Unpaid
Date: September 2nd to November 1st
Job Summary:
The Voter Registration Table Volunteer will help empower community members by assisting them with the voter registration process at our church food pantry. This role is crucial in ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to participate in the democratic process, particularly those who may face barriers to registering to vote.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Voter Registration Assistance: Help guests complete voter registration forms, ensuring they understand the process and requirements. Provide information on voter eligibility and deadlines.
- Education and Resources: Distribute educational materials about voting rights, upcoming elections, and the importance of civic engagement. Answer any questions guests may have about the voting process.
- Outreach: Encourage pantry guests to register to vote and explain the impact of voting on community issues. Engage in respectful conversations to motivate voter participation.
- Collaboration: Work with other volunteers and church staff to integrate voter registration efforts with other services provided by the pantry.
- Set-Up and Clean-Up: Assist with setting up the voter registration table before guests arrive and cleaning up after the pantry session ends. Ensure the table is well-organized and inviting.
- Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with current voting laws, registration deadlines, and any changes in the voting process that may affect the community.

- Passion for Civic Engagement: A strong belief in the importance of voting and a desire to help others participate in the democratic process.
- Good Communication Skills: Ability to explain voter registration and voting procedures clearly and patiently.
