Position Summary:

Oversees all Human Resources functions. The Director of Human Resources will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of human resources management within our organization, ensuring compliance with labor laws, promoting a positive workplace culture, and supporting the strategic objectives of the company.

Essential Responsibilities – Overview:

  • Lead and oversee HR projects and initiatives, ensuring timely completion and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage and optimize the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that support the company's long-term objectives.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the human resources team, fostering a culture of teamwork and professional development and coaches’ employees at all levels regarding programs and policies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to management on HR-related matters, providing guidance and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Stay abreast of changes in labor laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and minimizing legal risks for the organization.
  • Addresses and resolves employee relations issues and disputes.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Essential Responsibilities - Payroll:

  • Provide strategic guidance on payroll-related matters to business office managers, executive Directors and senior management.
  • Oversee payroll processes and systems to ensure accurate and timely payment of employees. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the administration of various payroll deductions, including Statutory deductions (taxes, social security, etc.), Voluntary deductions (retirement plans, health insurance premiums, Court-ordered deductions (child support, wage garnishments).

Essential Responsibilities - Benefits:

  • Evaluate and select competitive benefit packages, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and other offerings.
  • Conduct regular market research and benchmarking to ensure the company's benefits offerings remain competitive within the industry.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations governing employee benefits, including ERISA, COBRA, and ACA.

Essential Responsibilities - Policy and Procedures:

  • Develop and maintain company-wide initiatives and programs including annual performance management, onboarding process, culture and engagement.
  • Create and manage the company's employee intranet site.
  • Create and update HR policies and procedures. Ensure these policies support the unique needs of Morningside Elite Management.
  • Implement policies for staff education, orientation programs, and on-the-job training specific to senior care. Establish policies for employee conduct, disciplinary actions, dress code, and confidentiality.
  • Develop a progressive discipline policy to address workplace violations consistently and fairly.

Essential Responsibilities - Workers Compensation:

  • Provide guidance and training to department managers and employees on workers' compensation procedures, injury reporting, and safety protocols.
  • Analyze workers' compensation data to identify trends, patterns of injury, and potential areas for improvement in workplace safety.
  • Manage relationships with workers' compensation insurance providers, third-party administrators, and legal counsel when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with related laws such as ADA, FMLA, and relevant state regulations.
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management on workers' compensation program performance, costs, and recommendations for improvements.

Essential Responsibilities - Training:

  • Develop comprehensive training materials and programs covering HRIS, performance management, labor laws and regulations. and payroll topics.
  • Provide ongoing support and mentoring to ensure community directors can effectively manage their HR responsibilities.
  • Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to keep directors updated on new technologies and best practices.

Essential Responsibilities - Employee relations:

  • Handle and resolve employee conflicts, disputes, and grievances in a fair and consistent manner. Assist managers and supervisors in understanding and implementing company policies related to performance, discipline, and other HR matters.
  • Advise on best practices for handling employee relations issues. Align employee relations strategies with overall business objectives. Develop and pursue new goals for improving employee relations within the organization

Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • SHRM-CP certification required. SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in human resources management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience with ADP HRIS and HCM solutions.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations as needed
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving common goals.
