Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join Chaupain Bakery The ideal candidate will have experience with payroll processing and a strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles. This position offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated team in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:

Payroll

- Process payroll for employees accurately and timely using ADP systems

- Perform account reconciliations and audits to ensure accuracy - Prepares and executes state and federal payroll taxes

- Administer employee benefits and deductions

- Preparing paychecks to ensure employees are paid on time and in the correct amount

- Acquiring all necessary signatures to distribute payroll

- Processing wage garnishments

- Analyze payroll data to identify discrepancies and produce payroll reports

- Prepare and input journal entries related to payroll transactions

- Addressing issues and questions regarding payroll from employees


Bookkeeping

- Accounts Payable

- Entering bills

- Paying bills

- Entering staff reimbursements

- Filing credit card receipts

- Credit card reconciliation

- Ensure accuracy in financial documents and cash flows

- Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions

- Ensures no funds are misused or unaccounted for

- Ensure accuracy in accounts payable outstanding items

- Comply with state and federal government requirements

- Follow accounting policies and procedures

- Analyze financial reports

- Document and retain a copy of invoices and receipts

- Audit billing to ensure accuracy

- Assist with regular financial reports to our clients

- Be the main point of contact for tax preparation

- Assist CPA int ax preparation

- Look to improve accounting systems

- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations

- Build knowledge and comprehension of existing legislation

- Attend team meetings

- Process and file staff reimbursements


Relevant Skills and Knowledge

- Knowledge of IFRS, U.S. GAAP, or another account framework

- Data entry skills

- High attention to detail

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

- Produce work with high level of accuracy

- Professionalism and organizational skills

- Bachelors degree

- Knowledge of payroll, payroll taxes, garnishments

- Advanced computer system proficiency

- Advanced math skills and ability

- Demonstrated ability to work accurately with numbers required

- Demonstrated self-management and strong problem solving skills

- Detail oriented, accuracy, and thoroughness required


Experience:

The successful candidate should possess the following skills and qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role

- Proficiency in using ADP, QuickBooks, or similar payroll software

- Strong understanding of benefits administration processes

- Ability to analyze payroll data for accuracy and compliance

- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices

- Experience with account reconciliation procedures

- Proficient in data entry tasks with high accuracy levels
