JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Project Manager will assist in the planning of all aspects of the organizational strategy for ensuring that families of the target area are stable and thriving. The Assistant Project Manager will assist the Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Director, Vice President, or President with establishing effective and strong working relationships with clients and other key community partners (i.e. schools, service providers, civic leaders, federal, state and local public agencies, businesses, philanthropy, etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct Resident Support

Provide direct support of families served by USI through assessment, development of goals, connection to resources and removal of barriers as assigned.

Partnership Development and Cultivation

  1. Assist with researching and applying for grant opportunities to support the implementation of strategies to drive equitable results.

  2. Assist with researching and identifying high impact partners that have the ability or, with capacity building, will have the ability to meet the programmatic goals.

  1. Monitor and lead sub-contractors and partners from the private, nonprofit, and public sectors and support them in implementation of programs and

  1. Assist with the coordination and management of any special projects.


Reporting Requirements

  • In consultation with Executive or Project Management staff, assist with the development and implementation of an Annual Action Plan. The Action Plan must align with the overall programmatic goals, and be consistent with program philosophies and the articulated vision. Programs and services must be informed by ongoing needs assessment and evidence-based practice.

  • Assist the Executive or Project management staff in tracking and reporting programmatic outcomes, and engage in ongoing evaluation and adjustment of strategies to ensure that they meet project objectives and other project requirements.

  • Assist the Executive or Project management staff with monitoring the productivity of all data entered into the LEARN Performance Management System to prepare reports and document progress towards programmatic goals.

Sustainability and Capacity Building

  • Promote community building, leadership training and infrastructure development activities to strengthen and expand the ability of USI staff, residents, resident leaders and partners are able to effectively contribute to neighborhood transformation.

  • Assist with sustainability planning, fundraising and resource development efforts, including through ongoing identification of potential partnerships and funding opportunities, and assisting with writing grant or project proposals.

Administrative

  • Support the Executive or Project Management staff in the deployment of strategies.

  • Be available to work nights and/or weekends, as assigned.

  • Support the management of project contract and budgets, and be accountable for expenditures

  • Assisting in the development, presentation and/or or publication of internal and external reports to stakeholders and partners.

  • Actively participate in USI program meetings and other meetings.

  • Other administrative duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or experience required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • One year of work experience in the not-for-profit or human services sector, demonstrating progressively higher levels of responsibility for managing all aspects of a project or program, overseeing partnerships and contracts, and supervising a team of individuals.

  • Two years of experience in grant writing.
