With more than $180 million in assets, Public Safety Credit Union in Kansas City, Missouri, is seeking a Mortgage Loan Clerk to ensure the accurate and timely processing of mortgage loan applications. Essential Duties:


  • Process applications for home equity and 1st mortgage loans.
  • Assist the Mortgage Loan Officer and/or Underwriter in providing all applicable disclosures to borrowers.
  • Collect all documentation for each loan file according to regulatory and secondary market requirements.
  • Order and review credit reports, title work, flood certificates, employment verification, verification of deposit and any other applicable documentation for each loan file.
  • Communicate with other professionals, including title companies and real estate agents.
  • Submit files to the assigned Mortgage Loan Officer and/or Underwriter.
  • Provided assistance with various projects within the Loan Service Department.
  • Identify all cross-sell opportunities and actively sell Credit Union products and services through daily face-to-face and telephone contact with existing and potential members. 
  • Assist with maintaining loan servicing for all real estate loans. 
  • Assist with maintaining and reporting data on all applicable real estate loans as required by the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA).
  • Research and resolve problems on members’ accounts.
  • Maintain comprehensive, up-to-date knowledge of all State and Federal regulations that are applicable to the transactions performed in lending.
  • Maintain knowledge of all Credit Union policies and processes within the lending area.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Credit Union’s safety and security procedures relating to safety, false alarms, robberies, bomb threats, and extortion.
  • Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of all member information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Position Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Consumer or mortgage lending experience preferred.
  • May be required to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) and maintain a status of good standing under the SAFE Act requirements.
