Job Description

The Controller role is responsible for facilitating the financial and accounting practices of the company. As Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our accounting records are in compliance with GAAP in a timely manner. This role will also collaborate with our operations teams to ensure that real-time data used for operational optimizations aligns with month-end financial reporting.

Reporting directly to the CFO, the ideal candidate will have the capability of taking on routine tasks, new challenges, can survive and thrive in a vibrant, dynamic environment and is proficient at multi-tasking, as well as the ability to optimize and streamline processes.


Responsibilities

  • Financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Ownership of all financial transactions and ensuring proper documentation and accurate recording
  • Partner with operations team to review and validate Revenue and Cost of Sales
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts
  • A/P & A/R processing
  • FP&A support for quarterly and annual budgets/financial forecasts
  • Ensuring payroll tax and benefit compliance
  • Annual 1099 reporting
  • Manage Revenue invoicing process
  • Manage a timely/efficient monthly close process
  • Bank compliance reporting
  • Support the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns
  • Develop and maintain accounting procedures and controls
  • Special projects


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in related for-profit entities
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and MS Excel (absolute must)
  • Prior experience at start-ups or high growth companies
  • CPA a plus
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Exceptional attention to detail with high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively
  • Austin, Texas based or willing to relocate.
