Position Overview: The Quality Manager will oversee the quality assurance and control processes within our manufacturing operations. This role is crucial in ensuring that our products meet stringent aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements. The Quality Manager will lead a team of quality professionals, implement and maintain quality management systems, and collaborate with various departments to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management System (QMS):
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System in compliance with industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
- Ensure adherence to all aerospace industry regulations and customer requirements.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage the quality assurance team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the team and across the organization.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Utilize tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Root Cause Analysis to address and resolve quality issues.
Customer and Supplier Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters with customers and suppliers.
- Address and resolve quality concerns or complaints from customers in a timely manner.
- Conduct supplier quality audits and manage supplier quality performance.
Product Quality Assurance:
- Oversee quality inspections and testing to ensure products meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Develop and enforce quality control procedures and inspection criteria.
- Review and approve non-conformance reports (NCRs) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records and documentation.
- Prepare and present quality performance reports to senior management.
- Ensure all quality-related documentation is compliant with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Compliance and Certification:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, including FAA, EASA, and other relevant aerospace authorities.
- Manage and coordinate external audits and certifications.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. A Masters degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CQE, CQM) is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in quality management within the aerospace manufacturing industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Work Environment:
- The role typically requires working in a manufacturing environment with occasional visits to suppliers or customer sites.
