Job title: Bilingual Early Literacy Coordinator

Program Description:

Research shows that all children benefit from a high-quality early childhood education experience, and that quality early education is critical for children growing up in low-income families. Our over 40 years of experience with early childhood education and literacy programs help children enter school ready to learn.

Our early literacy programs help young children build the skills they need to become successful readers now while laying the foundation for lifelong literacy.

In this role, you will:

  • Facilitates early communication, language, and literacy training including Let’s Talk Dads, Let’s Talk programs, and other topics in the evenings.
  • Actively recruits eligible participants to enroll and participate in Let’s Talk Dads and Let’s Talk programs through innovative community partnerships and direct parent and caregiver outreach.
  • Create an interactive and engaging learning environment for all families.
  • Adhere to all learning objectives within each training module.
  • Share information about other programs within the agency.
  • Make connections to services within the community that will enhance the parenting skills of all families through the "Resource of the Week" component of the program.
  • Maintain all necessary reports associated with the position. Has knowledge of agency programs as well as requirements for enrollment and eligibility.
  • Assist the Program Supervisor in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating program services, policies, and procedures.
  • Meet all performance standards as outlined in each contract.

What it takes:

  • Required-Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • BA/BS- Early Childhood Development or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in the field of early education
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, organization, and interpersonal skills are required
  • Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card - OR - must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Preferred experience:
    • Early communication, language, and literacy development in children ages birth to five.
    • Family engagement initiatives and adult learners.
    • Knowledge of Department of Child Services reporting mandates.
