Scope of Work:
This position performs general preventative maintenance on building equipment such as air handlers, condensers, pumps, motors, exhaust fans, air compressors and air dryers.
Responsibilities:
- The position requires practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in the HVAC trade.
- Work will include replacing filters, cleaning coils, replacing belts, pumps and motors, water remediation, cleaning of mechanical rooms as well as changing batteries in locks and smoke detectors.
- Employees will be required to work on top of buildings, in mechanical rooms, in crawl spaces, etc. to do routine maintenance.
- This requires but is not limited to carrying ladders, being in small spaces over periods of time, and being able to work at all heights.
- Installation, maintenance, or repair of general structural construction, framing, building and installation of cabinets, stairs or trim work.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in a variety of building and/or utility trades.
- Each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experience.
- Class B CDL Required
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check. May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance, including successfully completing a thorough background investigation. For positions requiring use of a Company and/or Customer vehicle, must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.
- Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English.
- Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting ability or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
- Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
- Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
- Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
- Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.). Outside work in winter, summer, rain, sleet, and snow and on uneven terrain – side hills and slopes.
- Must be able to climb ladders up to 40 feet.
- Work may require exposure to dust, particulates, unpleasant and potentially hazardous substances, and high voltage.
- Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification.
- Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
- Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
