Job Title: General Maintenance Worker

Job Summary:

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) is seeking a skilled General Maintenance Worker to join our team. As a General Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance on services related to indoor or outdoor plumbing, including servicing or replacing fixtures, clearing out drains, surveying utility lines, and assisting plumbers on various jobs.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance on services related to indoor or outdoor plumbing.
  • Service or replace fixtures, clear out drains, survey utility lines, and assist plumbers on various jobs.
  • Consistently produce quality products and services.
  • Complete all training within the required timeline.
  • Perform all work in a safe and secure manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Class B CDL required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in a variety of building and/or utility trades.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume office area and interface in a positive manner with co-workers and the customer.
  • Ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
  • Highly motivated, flexible, organized, and detail-oriented.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to maintain the ability to access government worksites.
  • Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices.
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors environments. Some work is performed with exposure to low to loud noise levels; frequent fieldwork is required with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and the external environment; tasks may require working in tightly enclosed spaces and the use of ladders or other safety equipment to gain access to hard-to-reach locations; some work is performed in crawl spaces, attics, or on rooftops. Some work may require exposure to dust, particulates, unpleasant and potentially hazardous substances, and high voltage.
  • Duties require on a continuous basis to sit, stand, bend, climb ladders (up to 40 feet), stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and twist for varying periods in the course of work; use hands and fingers to grasp tools; make repetitive hand and body motions; twist and reach below and above shoulder; lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to communicate with co-workers using a two-way radio; use telephone, and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means; see in the normal vision range with or without correction to read computer screens, blueprints, and drafting plans; hear in the normal range with or without correction.
  • Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have and maintain a valid state driver's license to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
