Who are we?Founded in 1999, Progressive Community Health Centers is an independent non-profit organization that operates four clinic locations in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. More than 100 employees support our agency's mission to improve the health and quality of life of the community by providing culturally competent services that address identified needs. We provide high quality, comprehensive care to roughly 16,000 patients annually, a majority of who are low-income. No one is ever turned away from our clinics based on insurance status or ability to pay. We value a patient-centered philosophy and provide range of services that include family medicine, internal medicine, women's health, urgent care, dental, radiology and integrated behavioral health. We also offer supportive services such as case management, health education and benefits enrollment.



What will you do?

This is a key leadership position within the management team and is responsible for the day-to-day effective and efficient operation of the organization's clinics. This position reports to the Director-Clinic Operations and collaborates with the management team to assure the clinics operate in accordance with PCHC's Mission and objectives. Responsibilities include oversite of clinic services, including clinic operations, medical records, referrals, supervisors, and other indirect reports which include non-provider medical and support staff. This role has oversite of multiple clinic locations. This position has responsibility for compliance with accreditation, regulatory, federal, and state rules, and regulations as well as organizational policy and procedures. The manager will work closely with providers, and staff to ensure the delivery of quality, cost effective health care.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Accomplishes clinical support human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
  2. Meets operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements.
  3. Assists in meeting clinical financial standards by providing annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
  4. Maintains nursing and clinical support staff guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  5. Assures quality of care by developing and interpreting clinic standards of care; enforcing adherence to staff licensing and certification levels in accordance with state and/or certifying board representing the clinical staff's practicing regulations; measuring health outcomes against standards; making or recommending adjustments.
  6. Mentors direct leadership reports and ensures accountability to the quality and effectiveness of the clinic operations.
  7. Utilizes daily huddles to promote communication and efficient clinic flow.
  8. Ensures adequate and efficient workflow in the clinic.
  9. Monitors staff schedules to ensure adequate patient access and support staff as needed to meet provider demand.
  10. Assess staff productivity utilizing organizational and industry standards. Manage staffing accordingly to provide quality service and within budgetary guidelines.
  11. Establishes a compassionate environment by ensuring staff adhere to the organization's professional standards.
  12. Maintains safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations, calling for assistance from other health care professionals.
  13. Protects patients and employees by developing and interpreting infection-control policies and protocols, enforcing medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  14. Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by monitoring confidential information processing.
  15. Maintains documentation of patient care services by auditing patient and department records


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Two years of experience in ambulatory care is required.
Two years of experience in a leadership role (e.g., manager, supervisor) is required.
Bachelor's Degree is requiredRequires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact) (or eligible for Wisconsin licensure).
