Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced LPN to lead our clinic team. As an LPN Lead Clinic, you will be responsible for preparing and rooming patients for exams, performing laboratory procedures, and assisting physicians with procedures and surgeries. You will also be responsible for administering medications, providing patient education, and overseeing day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and room patients for exams, obtaining vital signs and documenting pertinent health information.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, including strep tests, wound cultures, and specimen collection, using principles of aseptic technique and standard precautions.
  • Assist physicians with procedures and surgeries, such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, and colposcopy.
  • Administer medications, under physician orders, including immunizations, antibiotics, pain medications, vitamins, topical agents, and insulin.
  • Provide patient education on tasks, skills, treatment, and self-care, following through with necessary procedure or test requests, prescription refills, new appointment times, and referrals.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including organizing and preparing exam rooms, lab, and work areas, and maintaining equipment.
  • Assist with performing human resources responsibilities, including interviewing and selecting new employees, staff development, performance evaluation feedback, and employee morale.
Requirements:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license issued by the state in which you practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 45 days.
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Practical Nursing.
  • Typically requires 5 years of experience in nursing, including experience in an outpatient physician practice or hospital environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with patients, staff, and physicians.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Must sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs of force, perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present, and will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood, and body fluids.
