Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reviews donor record files to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance with cGMP.
- Assists management team in educating new donors on different Specialty Programs.
- Trains and provides leadership to new/existing employees.
- Assists in maintaining inventory levels, stocking supplies and opening and closing lots for usage.
- Communicates with management regarding pertinent information regarding work areas.
- Identifies areas of opportunity for continuous improvement within the reception area and assists in donor flow.
- Maintains cleanliness of work area to ensure a clean and professional environment.
- Performs donor identification, registration and screening; determines donor suitability according to cGMPs, DCOPs, CFR, PPTA standards, customer specifications and Company policies.
- Must be able to draw vein and finger stick samples as required.
- Maintains smooth and efficient flow of donors through registration and screening.
- Must be competent in assessing pre-donation unsuitability signals, performing vital signs, HCT/TP testing, donor deferral and donor reaction management.
- Coordinates with physician/physician substitutes for physicals, assessments, document review, SPE approval, NAT testing protocols, immunizations, etc.
- Performs calibration and cleaning of equipment as required by pre-determined schedules and in accordance with DCOP’s.
- Performs general clerical duties as required with attention to accuracy.
- Must be computer literate and able to use DMS system for donor data entry.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Available to work flexible and/or extended shifts.
- Occupational exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
- Demonstrated basic knowledge of computer equipment and software.
- Demonstrated accuracy in completing documentation.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit or stand for up to four (4) hours at a time.
- Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Be able to bend, stoop or kneel.
- Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
