Commercial Lines Account Manager

Primary Role:

Day-to-day maintenance and servicing of assigned small business Commercial Lines accounts, including but not limited to:

  • Managing new and existing client accounts and relationships while maintaining a high level of client service and satisfaction
  • Achieving agency account retention goals by providing extraordinary client service, achieving agency growth goals through proactive account rounding and cross-selling, and marketing and placement of new business and renewal accounts

Duties:

  • Support agency growth and retention efforts by servicing accounts in accordance with agency service standards for Small Market Commercial Lines.
  • Review coverage and provide information to client inquiries.
  • Update applications, assemble loss runs, and other underwriting information to submit to insurance companies.
  • Prepare proposals, binders, auto ID cards, and renewal certificates.
  • Receive phone calls, faxes or e-mails from customers for policy endorsements and process per agency procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Active Indiana Property & Casualty license
  • Minimum 7 years’ insurance brokerage or equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge of all lines of commercial insurance, including sophisticated and less common coverages, especially those products represented through agency
  • Thorough knowledge of brokerage operations including claims handling, procedures, commercial lines rating, agency management system, and applicable insurance laws/codes
  • Experience and expertise in operating in electronic environment; Applied EPIC knowledge is preferred but not required. Excellent automation skills, Outlook, Word, Excel, document management software, carrier proprietary systems, and phone systems; Intermediate Excel skills required
  • Excellent time management, organizational and verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of self-motivation and self-direction
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong mathematic abilities preferred

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm
