Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Disaster Relief Case Coordinator to manage administrative tasks and provide essential support during disaster response efforts. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, a deep understanding of the disaster lifecycle, and the ability to effectively coordinate with various stakeholders. As a key player in our disaster response team, you will assist in managing data, facilitating communication, and supporting both local and external disaster relief operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain data entry forms, project management tools, and data sharing agreements, including Form Assembly and Salesforce.
  • Serve as the point person for coordinating Long Term Recovery efforts.
  • Communicate updates through the chain of command.
  • Lead the coordination of the CCA Incident Command in collaboration with the CEO and Division Director of Disaster Response during events.
  • Support key partnerships within Acadiana Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster (AVOAD) and across the 8 civil parish service area.
  • Assist with the execution of CCA's disaster response both locally and when deployed outside the CCA service area.
  • Understand and manage various phases of the disaster lifecycle: Blue Sky Prep, Pre-landfall, During Event, Immediate Post-Event, and Long-Term Recovery.
  • Provide timely responses to potential and current survivor households via phone and email.
  • Under the direction of the Division Director, match volunteers and projects to deploy immediate response teams and conduct site visits.
  • Assist in coordinating the Diocese of Lafayette Response.
  • When deployed, be "boots on the ground," identifying immediate needs and preparing for subsequent disaster phases.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support the organization's mission.

Job Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Two or more years of professional work history in a related field preferred. Experience in responding to at least one major natural disaster is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs, Google Documents, and project management solutions preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and partnerships simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, able to work effectively with diverse groups, including homeowners, volunteers, community groups, and sponsors.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Job Specifications

  • Medium: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. 100% of the time.
