Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of disaster construction projects, ensuring timely and effective completion.
  • Manage and organize materials for projects on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Identify and communicate potential project problems or hazards to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Lead and train volunteer groups in construction procedures, techniques, and safety practices, including chainsaw use, muck and gut, and tarping.
  • Assist in maintaining the CCA warehouse and inventory, ensuring proper storage and availability of materials.
  • Support CCA's disaster response efforts both locally and when deployed outside the area.
  • Communicate and coordinate home recovery projects with DDDR and RTA, and lead local "mission trips" within the context of disaster response.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support the organization's mission and objectives.

Job Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field or at least two years of relevant professional experience; At least two major natural disaster responses preferred.
  • Knowledge in construction, Google Documents, and project management solutions preferred.

    • Strong interpersonal and compassionate care skills.
    • Flexible and adaptive with a proven ability to work well with diverse groups, including homeowners, volunteers, community groups, and sponsors.
    • Ability to independently organize, lead teams, and manage multiple tasks.
    • Practical understanding of manual labor with a commonsense approach.

Job Specifications

  • Medium: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. 100% of the time.
